What happens after settlement?

We tell you it has completed and send you a final settlement statement setting out how the funds were disbursed.

If you are the buyer, contact the real estate agent to collect the keys. If the seller lived in the property you collect them from 12 noon on the day after settlement. If they didn’t, you collect them straight away.

If you are the seller, hand the keys to the agent. If you lived in the property you have until 12 noon on the day after settlement to move out. If you didn’t, the keys go to the buyer immediately.
