What is a disbursement?

A disbursement is any cost or fee we incur on your behalf as part of the settlement process. The common ones are:

  • Landgate certificate of title or encumbrance searches;
  • Landgate fees for registering documents such as the transfer, a new mortgage or a discharge of mortgage;
  • fees to notify the local authority, the Water Corporation and RevenueWA of the change of ownership, known as an advice of sale;
  • the electronic settlement platform fee; and
  • an onboarding fee for AML compliance and your ID check.

We charge disbursements to you at cost, so we don’t mark up any search we complete for you. Postage and settlement attendance, for settlements completed on PEXA, are included in our fee rather than charged separately.

The instant quote calculator itemises the disbursements for your own transaction alongside the fee and the government charges.
